Today after breakfast I went for a hike to Hibilito and casa del mundo with two ausie girls and a guy from England. The Ausie girls had a two friends with pictures from the balcony at the casa del mundo. So we went and found the balcony. We spent a few hours jumping off the balcony. It was a lot of fun and I took tons of pictures, which I will get posted in the next few days. Chris the guy from London had lunch there and the rest of us had lemonade. The lemon aid was fantastic; mine was made with shaved ice and was perfect. We got rained on a bit on the walk back to the Iguana. All in all it was a great way to spend my last Friday here.
After I returned I spent a bit of time making the quiz for the pub quiz after dinner. Last week I had so many complaints that the quiz was much to difficult, so I tired to make it easier this week. I thought it was easier, and it seemed like people had more fun as well. So a win win. I was helping Ashley(new volunteer) close so I had a late night. I am going to miss this place.

Friday, April 30th, 2010Today was my last lesson with Victoria. It went relatively well, being the last one we didn’t really do a lot of studying new material. I feel in the last four weeks that my Spanish is much improved. I can follow along with conversations, I still cannot respond quickly or in complicated sentences. But I am able to get my point across, even if I sound like a child when I do so. I am going to keep at it with my flash cards and year one book coupled with traveling in Spanish speaking countries for the next 11 months should be enough to consider myself a Spanish speaker. If not it is completely my fault.
