Just arrived in Flores and got checked into our hotel. Booked a trip to Tikal for tomorrow. Should be great I will write more tomorrow. Tikal was fantastic, it was off the beaten trail. Once you get there you are walking on trails through the jungle from pyrimids to mounds to temples towering into the sky. We climbed several of the towers and I took lots of pictures. I actually filled my memory card while I was there and had a very difficult time trying to get all the pictures onto a computer in the internet cafe and then burn it to a DVD. It took about two hours but I finally got it transfered and immediately started taking pictures agian. Flores was a beautiful little island city, with lots of nice little resturants and hotels of all price ranges. I would recomend Tikal to anyone who is interested in Mayan civilization and doesnt mind walking. I will post the pictures as soon as I can.

Friday, February 20th, 2009Week 6
Friday, February 20th, 2009We got back from Cozumel and Playa and everyone was in such a good mood at base. They had been diving since we left. They seen lots of great stuff, most got to swim with a pod of dolpins as well. I wasnt jealous as i was diving in Cozumel but it was nice to be back on base with everyone happy. Got up the next day and made pancakes as well as had two dives. They are finally showing us how to do the monitoring. Tuesday morning wasnt as fun… i was on the second wave of the day and we couldnt get out the pass due to the waves. ANOTHER cold front had moved in. We didnt dive on wednesday or Thursday either. I decided to go to Guatemala for the weekend and hope the weather clears up while im gone. This should be a great trip.
Goodbye 5 weekers…hello Cozumel
Thursday, February 12th, 2009We left base early on Thurdsay for Playa. Grubby was Leaving saturday morning so we booked our dives for saturday so he wouldnt be left out. We just walekd around Playa and ate and went to bars. Did some shopping, even went to WALMART who would have thought there was one here, it was crazy. We took the ferry to Cozumel saturday morning at 8, and met our dive boat at 9. It was a small operation just one guy and boat. He did a pretty good job and we did our two tank dive. The current here is crazy!!! The reef looks really good here as well the viz has to be about 100´ or so. Me and Adara stayed on cozumel two more nights and did 4 more dives. Our last 4 dives were with a bigger outfit and the service showed. The hotel we found was less than $20 US a night. I would have loved to stay and continue diving there instead of going back to base. We are in playa del carmen waiting to catch a bus back to base to hopefully do some diving. Only time will tell.
