Back in Tulum….it hasnt changed much. We got off the bus and went to find a place to stay, we looked at the weary traveler first then to the maya hotel. We found a really neat room that has four double beds in it. So we took that room. There are 7 of us staying there so it was pretty cheap. Several of us went to Coba today and it was pretty good, it wasnt as grand as Tikal but the ruins were very interesting. I took lots of photos and will post them when I can. We are going to go back to Buenos Ares the steak house for dinner tonight and I am looking forward to it. Tomorow we dive in the Cenotes agian. Dinner last night wasnt as good as I hoped, I had an esouphageal impaction on my third bite and that kinda ruined the rest of my night. The cenotes were great even better than the first time. We went to Gran Cenote and Temple of Doom, both were fun Gran Cenote is alot brighter than the others I have been to and there is a 3 meter hole you jump into for Temple of Doom, with your full kit on, it was alot of fun. After the cenotes we had lunch and caught the bus back to Limones. Taxi from there back to base. Another great trip.

Tulum Revisited
Friday, February 27th, 2009week 7
Wednesday, February 25th, 2009So me and Kendall got back about 11pm and I just went straight to bed. Everyone was curious about the trip in the morning so I spent more time talking than I did raking. We had porridge for breakfast!!! I had sorta began to miss it. I was on the first dive andit was great to be back on base diving. My practice monitoring seesion went well. I worked the radio for a while and went out to do my second dive. We broke profile by going to deep at the begining of the dive so we aborted and surfaced. It made for a very short dive followed by a long sit in the boat while the others finished. The had begun the expedition swap with a few of us going to pez maya and a few of them coming down to Punta Gruesa. Jax, Sarah and Mark came down and it was good to see Jax and meet the other two if only of a day. We had a minor going away party for them Wednesday night and had a fire. Thursday morning there was a big storm so we had a lie-in. Soon as I heard that my feet started itching. lol I knew that Rosie and Hana had planned a trip to Tulum to go cenote diving, so a few of us tagged along. Thursday afternoon I left base agian. No big suprise!!!
Caye caulker again…?
Sunday, February 22nd, 2009On the way to Chetumal from Flores Kendall decides she want to go to Caye Caulker and do some diving. So we got off the bus in Belize city instead of Chetumal and grabbed a water taxi. I didnt think I would be back here again so soon, but im not complaining. The hotel is as good as I remember and the water is as clear as ever. I am not sure where I am diving tomorrow but hopefully at Turneffe reef. We dove at Turneffe and it was alright, not as good as Lighthouse, just had a decent wall but alot less and smaller fish. After our dive we decided to stay antoher day it was the right idea. Today has been an all day travel day. We got up and had breakfast then cought the water taxi back to Bcity. Then we bought bus tickets but it was ove r an hour late and then we didnt even get seats cause it was full, so we got off and changed our tickets to the next bus. Needless to say we were ready to leave belize. The next bus was only half an hour late. We got to Chetumal and are now waiting for out next bus which should be here in two hours. I am looking forward to getting back on base and doing some diving. I think I need a vacation from my vacation on my vacation. That has to be one of the funniest sentences I have ever written.
